Evening & Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program in UT

You can transcend substance abuse and maintain your sobriety despite how busy your days are. To accommodate hectic schedules and make recovery more convenient, Wasatch Crest offers an evening intensive outpatient program that clients can attend either in person or virtually.

During the sessions, clients can leave the rest of the day's obligations behind and spend their evenings with the Wasatch Crest team, which includes clinical mental health counselors and certified social workers, and reconnect in a therapeutic setting.

Key Features of an IOP

An intensive outpatient program provides structured support for people experiencing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, or co-occurring conditions. Some key elements of these programs include:

  • Therapy Sessions:
    • Includes individual counseling and group therapy.
  • Evidence-Based Approaches:
    • Utilizes therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and holistic methods like mindfulness or stress management.
  • Structured Support:
    • Offers more intensive care compared to conventional outpatient programs, providing accountability and regular progress tracking.
    • Encourages the development of healthy habits, relapse prevention skills, and peer connections.

Ideal Candidates

Ideal candidates for our evening and virtual IOPs are people who:

  • Have mild to moderate substance use or mental health issues that do not require inpatient care.
  • Have a stable home environment and support from family or friends.
  • Have access to external resources like supportive community groups or networks.
  • Are committed to attending sessions and actively participating in their treatment.
  • Are seeking a structured program to help achieve and maintain recovery goals.
  • Are stepping down from residential treatment or detox programs and need continued support.
  • Are stable enough to live independently but need accountability and coping tools to prevent relapse.
  • Are seeking a tailored approach to address their unique mental health or addiction challenges.

You may not be ideal candidates if you:

  • Are experiencing severe addiction or acute mental health crises that need round-the-clock supervision.
  • Do not have a stable living environment or access to a supportive network.
  • Are unable or unwilling to commit to regular attendance or active participation.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program: Accessible Care Anywhere

A virtual intensive outpatient program combines the extensive care of a traditional IOP with the convenience of online access. The greatest benefits of our virtual IOP include:

  • Remote Participation: Participants join therapy sessions and support groups via secure video conferencing platforms.
  • Convenience: Ideal for individuals with transportation challenges, those in rural areas, or people balancing work and family commitments.
  • Privacy: Allows participants to attend from the comfort of their homes.
  • Confidential Technology: Sessions are conducted on HIPAA-compliant platforms to ensure participant privacy.

Benefits of Evening Intensive Outpatient Programs

Evening intensive outpatient programs provide the same high-quality, structured care as traditional IOPs. They also come with the added benefit of evening scheduling. Below are some advantages of choosing an evening IOP:

  • Accommodates Busy Lifestyles: Evening IOPs allow participants to attend work or school or care for their families during the day while receiving treatment in the evening.
  • Minimal Disruption: Participants can address their recovery needs without putting their personal or professional lives on hold.
  • Ideal for Working Professionals and Students: Evening hours make treatment accessible for those with daytime commitments.
  • Balanced Approach: Evening IOPs help participants maintain stability in their personal and professional lives while focusing on recovery.
