At Wasatch Crest, our treatment program follows a structured level system designed to support each client’s unique recovery journey. Progress through the levels is guided by clinical observations, participation, and overall progress. While each level includes an approximate time frame, movement may vary based on individual needs.
Orientation Level
Time Frame: Admission to Day 3
Focus: Introduction to the program, expectations, and therapeutic community
Clients begin with an introduction to program standards and start building peer relationships. They attend "New Client Orientation" with staff and begin integrating into the group. Completion of this level is required before using the gym, participating in off-site activities, or advancing to Level One.
Level One: Reflection
Time Frame: Days 4 to 7
Focus: Self-awareness and personal reflection
Clients engage fully in treatment activities and develop a personalized treatment plan with their therapist. They complete the "My Story" assignment and share it with peers. At this level, clients do not yet have phone or visitation privileges.
Level Two: Perspective
Time Frame: Days 8 to 14
Focus: Values, emotional awareness, and relationship insight
Clients explore how substance use has impacted their relationships and values. They continue group therapy, advance treatment goals, and begin peer mentorship. Phone use and supervised computer access are introduced. Level Two assignments are presented to the group for feedback.
Level Three: Community
Time Frame: Days 14 to 21
Focus: Rebuilding relationships and identifying sober supports
This level focuses on restoring healthy connections and identifying supportive networks.
Clients reflect on the impact of addiction on loved ones and strengthen their foundation for long-term recovery. Assignments are shared with peers in structured feedback sessions.
Level Four: Planning and Details
Time Frame: Days 21 to 30
Focus: Relapse prevention and continuing care planning
Clients work closely with their therapist to create a detailed aftercare and relapse prevention plan. These plans are reviewed with both the therapist and peer group to ensure a thoughtful, supportive transition post-treatment.
Level Five: Action
Time Frame: Days 30 to 90
Focus: Real-world preparation, life skills, and community engagement
In the final level, clients begin implementing their recovery plans. This stage may include vocational or educational planning, life skills development, and community involvement. Clients assume more responsibility and continue identifying areas for personal growth to support long-term recovery.
